What Briefcast processes, stores, and shares.
This notice explains what belongs to your private account and what Briefcast may keep from publicly available podcast episodes.
Account data
Information tied to your Briefcast account.
Briefcast stores your username, a salted password hash, active session records, podcast subscriptions, inclusion choices, schedule and timezone settings, generated digest records, and a private feed token. Password plaintext is not stored.
If you use a paid plan, Briefcast keeps the billing details needed to show your plan, renewal, and cancellation status. Payment details are handled securely by our payment provider; Briefcast does not receive or store full card numbers.
Processing data
Public episodes can be prepared once and used efficiently.
Briefcast may retain prepared audio, transcripts, highlights, and summaries derived from publicly available podcast episodes so the same episode does not need to be prepared repeatedly.
Your subscriptions, schedule, editions, billing status, and account identity remain private to your account. Your private feed link grants listening access, so keep it to yourself.
Service providers
The services that help Briefcast deliver your editions.
Briefcast uses trusted services to prepare podcast highlights, deliver audio, process payments, and understand which parts of the product are useful.
Analytics are limited to product interactions and listening delivery signals. They are not designed to include podcast titles, feed addresses, usernames, transcript content, or complete device identifiers.
Listening activity
Listening signals help us improve the product.
Briefcast records limited signals such as playback progress, downloads, and whether an edition reached a podcast app. Podcast apps may fetch audio in advance, so delivery does not necessarily mean someone listened.
These records do not store raw IP addresses or complete device identifiers. They are used internally to improve Briefcast and are kept for a limited period.
Control and retention
Ask about access or deletion before relying on the service for sensitive material.
Contact Briefcast for account access, correction, deletion, or privacy questions. Deleting an account can remove account-specific records; prepared material derived from publicly available podcasts may remain as part of the product's episode library.
Private feed URLs should be treated as credentials. Do not submit private or confidential feeds unless you have the right to process them and accept the current product's security and retention model.
